After reading Michael Arrington’s article on the release of the Searchme Beta, I too, was determined to give it a shot before their official release. So, I signed up through Techcrunch, and anxiously awaited my chance to test the new site. Well today the opportunity presented itself and we took full advantage of it. Read Sticki’s review of the Searchme Beta below.
Honestly, we were expecting another dull, quasi-Google/Yahoo style search engine with little innovation to the status quo. Jeez, we’re we wrong. Searchme is the future of search engines. Their Mac-like GUI interface makes searching for content, news or whatever it is you search for, a real pleasure.
With intentions of making your query more enjoyable, Searchme implemented a visual search, as opposed to the traditional text-based search engine’s we’re all used to. As you type your question or term into the search bar; categories that correlate with your entry begin to appear to the right of the search bar. In our opinion, this is truly the most helpful feature offered by Searchme. It allows you to jump directly into specifics, without having to comb through tens or even hundreds of pages if your a real bum. They haven’t forgot about you conservative types either; a list feature is still available.
